Documentary about Maddie increased audiences

That TVI has been the incontestable audience leader, for quite some time now, is not news. The phenomenon is mainly linked to the Queluz station’s national fiction.

But last Monday, the documentary “Maddie: The Truth of the Lie”, a piece that is based on the book by Gonçalo Amaral that focuses on the mysterious disappearance of the English child in Praia da Luz, was the contents that achieved the best results for the station’s antenna.

The hypothetical version of the fateful event that took place in the Algarvian village, translated to the small screen, obtained a share (viewers’ quota) of 53,7%, thus being the most watched programme of the day, a piece of data that extends to the competition’s offer under open signal.

The documentary contributed to one of the best average audiences of TVI. This fact also results from the always-relevant numbers achieved by soap operas, and the commemoration of the second anniversary of the “Tardes da Júlia” show, culminating in something that the channel has named “a fortunate combination of programmes” in a press release.
