Quote of the Day - Looking back on the Madeleine Case

"we're being stitched up"

"The police don't want a murder in Portugal and all the publicity about them not having paedophile laws here, so they're blaming us."

She added: "The Portuguese police are running out of budget for this investigation and want it to end."

Mr McCann, who until now has steadfastly refused to criticise the police, despairingly told a friend: "We are being absolutely stitched up."

  1. "A murder"?! Hummmm...then how does this match up with the "there's absolutelly no evidence that Madeleine is dead" or "she's out there...a very findable girl...she's come to no harm", etc.,etc.,etc! Funny choice of word,"murder"!Didn't you mean "abduction", Mrs. M.???
I have read about it before, but thought it was only another of those hearsay things, with no actual factual reference, but if it comes from an article and has never been denied by Mrs.M. ...
And to say that the investigation had to close down for lack of funds, well, the portuguese liaison police officer reported a different version(from your own lips, Mrs.M.),when you were about to be taken for further questioning(before being made "arguida"), you moaned something like- but the british authorities are pushing for the end of the investigation-(so why the hell are you taking me in again?!)
