“Gonçalo Amaral is overstepping all boundaries”

In an exclusive interview to SIC, Kate and Gerry McCann described the pain of the last two years and the manner in which Madeleine is still present in their everyday lives. On Maddie’s sixth birthday, the gifts for the child are standing in her room, waiting to be opened.

by Rita Jordão, SIC correspondent in the United Kingdom

Kate and Gerry McCann speak about the last two years as the longest ones in their lives and Kate described the manner in which the little girl that disappeared in the Algarve two years ago is still part of the McCanns’ everyday lives: “We’re a family of five and we miss Madeleine every day, we are trying to find her every day, Sean and Amelie speak about her every day, she is present in the house”.

The couple asserts that they keep their hope to find their daughter alive, a hope that is fed by the new documentary that was made by British Channel 4 and broadcast by SIC this evening. “We believe that the documentary shows public information that has not been presented in a coherent manner. And we sincerely believe that there are people in Portugal who hold information that they don’t think is relevant. That is what keeps us going, there’s still things to do in the search for Madeleine”, the Leicester cardiologist said.

Nevertheless, the figure of Gonçalo Amaral remains clearly present in the minds of Madeleine’s parents. Kate and Gerry assert that no legal measures have been taken against the former PJ inspector yet, in order to avoid further sores in the relationship between both countries, but with the broadcast of Gonçalo Amaral’s new movie, the McCanns admit the possibility of advancing with a legal battle.

“He’s overstepping the boundaries and we certainly don’t dismiss that possibility”, Gerry asserts. “We have to ask ourselves: why does someone try to persuade the public into believing that an innocent little girl is dead? That is unforgivable”.

Kate and Gerry McCann admit that the Madeleine Fund may be empty by the end of the year but assert that they will continue to search for their daughter because they continue to believe that Maddie is alive.

  1. McCann. You say this: “We have to ask ourselves: why does someone try to persuade the public into believing that an innocent little girl is dead? That is unforgivable”.

Mr Amaral is NOT trying to convince the public; the convincing was already achieved by way of scientific and forensic evidence. Nothing in this world can go against: Logic, Objective Scientific Analys and last but not least, Forensic evidence.

You and your wife and your whole circus will be soon falling like a deck of cards and you are the biggest joker.

Trust logic, scientific evidence and the forensics, you are running out of time.

I find that very strange. It really sounds as though the child would have had something to do with her death.

  3. Boundaries? Incredible that this ludicrous pair claim boundaries!

Watch carefully the 'Mockumentary' - there is a lot of 'theatre' around which side of the road Gerry was supposed to be - ask yourself why!

Ask yourself - would an abductor hang around in the street so obviously?

Ask yourself, why do the 'pretend cops' focus only on abduction and ask yourself who pays these 'detectives'!

Remeber also that there were proper photo fits which identified the man who the McCanns have now had 're-drawn' as 'spotty man' - whose image can be supermiposed over Gerry's. Why is it important to make us think this image could be Gerry? Is this to confuse the witness SMith's sighting of Gerry carrying Madeleine?

Ask yourself, why didnt Kate go back to Portugal?

Ask yourself, would a part time GP smell of corpses? She said it was because she'd been in contact with 6 before her hoiliday!

  11. They could better forget sueing Amaral.
He knows a lot more than he is telling.
Better not playing with fire, Gerry.

  12. Please, play with fire, Gerry.
Amaral wants to reopen the process, please, give him a chance.
If you both are innocents, you have nothing to fear.
You can prove in Tribunal that everything you told, abduction, the abductor behind the door, you crossed the street to talk to that man, etc, is true.
Go back with your friends to PdL and ask the police to organize a reconstruction.
And walk fast in dark, with a 4 years old girl in pajamas,in your arms, down that street, near the Smiths who will be delighted to come back to Algarve and to help you.
The police will find out how innocent you all are.
And after that, you can continue asking us to search for Madeleine.
    And to give you money.
    OK?

  13. More smoke and mirrors more lies you won’t come to Portugal.
You won’t sue Mr Amaral for you know you he tells the truth and are both guilty

For anyone who hasnt seen the chanel 4 documentary, listen very carefully when Kate shows how she found the kids bedroom door on finding Madeleine missing, she says the door was not as THEY LEFT IT! well it wouldnt be as THEY left it if both Gerry and Matt had checked since they left the apartment, Its brilliant!!

  15. They threaten and they dismiss the claims of Amaral yet will not take legal action..that fact alone says more than a hundred words of reason.
    They are lying bastards.

  16. Mr McCann,
If you really will find your dotter, why don't you ask the British authorities to search for your daughter? Why haven't you filed a complaint with
the British authorities over your missing daughter? The British
authorities can investigate crimes against British subjects,
anywhere in the world - Madeleine would be no exception. Why don't you ask the Portuguese Public Ministry to reopen the investigation? Why are you doing everything that makes this ANYTHING BUT a missing person's case? You chose to employ inexperienced private detectives instead. Why do you ONLY want your own paid detectives to investigate the disapperance? Why don't you want the police involved?
You have every right to ask the British Police to open an investigation
    into Madeleine's disappearance.

We have to ask ourselves: why the parents of Madeleine don't try to persuade British authorities to search for their innocent little girl? That is unforgivable”.

  18. Gerry, Kate & Co

I'd like to sugeggest you a very good book that really explain your behavior and the reason for it.

    Theory of Semiotics- Umberto Eco

"Semiotics is concerned with everything that can be taken as a sign. A sign is everything which can be taken as significantly substituting for something else. This something else does not necessarily have to exist or to actually be somewhere at the moment in which a sign stands in for it. Thus semiotics is in principle the discipline studying everything which can be used in order to lie. If something cannot be used to tell a lie, conversely it cannot be used to tell the truth; it cannot in fact be used 'to tell' at all. I think that the definition of a 'theory of the lie' should be taken as a pretty comprehensive program for a general semiotics."

    Make an effort,Gerry!
    good night,

    Maria

  19. Hi Anorakian, everything OK?I hope so.

You said something important to Kate : " Ask yourself, would a part time GP smell of corpses? She said it was because she'd been in contact with 6 before her hoiliday!

Maybe Kate gave the sick persons a big bottle of Calpol to get them sleep?

  20. "...why does someone try to persuade the public into believing that an innocent little girl is dead?"

Why does someone try to persuade the public into believing that an innocent little girl is alive?

Why is it so crucial what the public believe?

  21. There are no differences in information between Amaral's book and his documentary.
His book has more details, of course.
The McCanns' problem is that Amaral's video can reach the whole world, in no time, through internet
and I heard it is already circulating around in the UK.
If 3 people get it, the whole country will get it in a very short time.
In January, in Lisbon, Gerry said he wanted to look foward in this case and now he considers sueing Amaral.
Can you sue somebody for telling the truth?
The timeline on his video is signed by the witnesses as being true, the story about the abduction comfirmed by the parents, the dogs barked at certain places.
Where will the McCanns find a reason to sue Amaral?
When he published his book, Amaral said that he was longing for the moment the McCanns would sue him.
He than would invite them to Court and reopen the process.
Amaral says he has new evidences now.

Yes I noticed Jan, totally ridiculous, and suggesting that someone had tampered with he door, and abductor. But he supposedly came and left through the window! She must have known Gerry & co went to check, and did so each evening like that, and that the door might be in a different place. It suggests rehearsal for the story. It's one main reason I have for doubting the theme of Kate MCann's evidence.

The rebuttal, concerning cadaver smell on Kate: a moot point, but worth discussing further.

It's important to proceed in discussions with the same restraint and compassion shown by Amaral and Co.; I mean with some compassion toward the parents for their loss of their daughter.

  25. We have to ask ourselves: why does someone try to persuade the public into believing that an innocent little girl is ALIVE (against all the forensic evidence)? That is unforgivable.

Lindo.Mas, claro, está a«considerar a hipótese». Claro, claro que está. Vamos então ver isso. E depressa.
