Clean Slate : Exposing a Swindler Part II

30 June 2009 | Posted by  32 comments

When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.' in 'The Sign of the Four' (1890) by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Following my initial approach concerning the alleged 'investigative journalism' that is practised by a person that calls himself 'Duarte Levy', and having been confronted with suggestions that I might be merely reacting to a personal problem, I leave you a collection of items that range from the merely doubtful to the outright fantastic.

It is not my concern to discredit the person who produced these so-called facts, but rather to urge people who have been following the Madeleine McCann case, to seriously question these allegations and to start with a fresh clean slate.

The rogatory interrogatories done to the Tapas 7 in the UK in April 2008 are legitimate, the DVD process is authentic, the book written by the former coordinator to the case is based on facts pertaining to the investigation - it is there that we should look for the Truth.

What is not true/does not exist/incorrect fabrications :

The 24 Photos - the story according to Duarte: a Spanish tourist that was on the night of 3 of May having dinner at the Ocean Club's restaurant known as Tapas Bar takes some photos which show a few of the Tapas group members and how some, like Kate McCann, changed clothes; then the Spanish tourist back in Spain is robbed, his apartment was broken in and the camera with the alleged photos is taken; then the camera and the thief are found by the Spanish police; then Duarte worked as a middle man between the Spanish tourist the PJ and the British media who had an interest and wanted to buy the alleged photos. The 24 photos never appeared,

Explosive documents left behind by Justine McGuiness  - a dossier with documents, and a sketched map that pinpointed a location on Ribeira do Vascão. Duarte knows perfectly well that the 'explosive documents' were in fact a message of a group, inviting the McCanns for a meeting and a prayer for Madeleine.

Interview of Antonio Jimenez in a Spanish Jail  - Antonio Jimenez, an ex-officer, assistant investigator of Metodo 3 detectives agency who was arrested on drug trafficking charges - this bit is true. What is not true is that he ever met 'journalist Duarte Levy', infact no video recorded interview was made of Antonio Jimenez

Extra facts that are NOT true:

A debate in Lisbon promoted by 'Duarte Levy' about the McCann case - which never happened in spite of 'Duarte Levy' affirming the contrary. The debate according to him happened in Fábrica Braço de Prata, or in Universidade Lusofona.

A book wrote in partnership by Duarte Levy and others - sold in advance to the French ladies in his SOS Maddie forum, the book was never sent to the members of that Forum, or to any other persons who reserved it. Duarte has stated that his share of the book 'Maddie.Net' was given to the Unicef. [see screenshot below]. Even now some ladies of the said forum have not received their money back, and some were banned for questioning Durte bout the money.

Duarte being a good pal with: Paulo Rebelo, Jose Socrates, António José Seguro, Lopes da Mota, Ricardo Paiva, etc.

Duarte being on: Oprah, in Sri Lanka, in Dubai, Aachen, etc..

What we still don't know, and might be based in genuine fact(s) i.e. 1% of truth/99% of falsehood :

McCanns demanding 100.000-500.000 euros in a non-existent lawsuit

The PJ mole - a family member of one PJ superior officer

A Forensics report with 17 matching markers out of 19, when the preliminary reported only 15 markers - Duarte Levy claimed he had access to that 17 markers document in the Portuguese Documentary about Madeleine McCann DNA profile in  'Maddie the Truth of the Lie'.

Exposing a Swindler: The Truth About a Pathological Liar

In this post I will expose and prove how the so called journalist 'Duarte Levy' is nothing more than a con man, a swindler and a dangerous pathological liar. I was compelled to write this article as a warning for others who may fall prey of his lies and manipulative games, even though the subsequences that will probably originate from here will no doubt be used by persons who have other agendas.

90 per cent of child disappearances are accidental

29 June 2009 | Posted by  16 comments
Half of complaints concern youngsters from institutions

90 per cent of child disappearances are accidental, which means that those are normally lost and not the target of any crime, Lusa was told by the director of the Polícia Judiciária’s Criminal Investigation Information Unit.

Ramos Caniço explained that there are more cases during the holiday season, given the fact that children are not familiar with the places they are staying at, and offered advice: never to leave children alone. “This is the primary advice, fundamental and irreplaceable. Even when they are next to us, they disappear”, he stated.

The head officer offered the example that a child that is home alone is perfectly capable of walking out, and told that three days after the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, a four-year-old child that had been left on her own by her parents during the night, walked into the street at 4 a.m. She was found by a neighbour, who took her home.

Between January and June, the PJ had registered 34 missing children, but they were all found. “Lisbon has a success rate of around 100 per cent”, he pointed out.

Half of the complaints concerning the disappearance of adolescents refer to youngsters from institutions, both from educational centres and social security shelters: “Some run away more than ten times during the first few months spent in institutions.”

During the first five months of this year, the PJ received more than 400 participations of missing adolescents aged between 12 and 18, several of them concerning the same youngsters.

“The adolescents are our main workload, although these are cases that generally are solved on their own”, said Ramos Caniço.

Portuguese Child Alert System in Action

EU-wide Child Abduction Alert System Implemented in Portugal

Commission Vice-President Jacques BARROT
As of today, Portugal has a child abduction alert system that will allow to gather, immediately after the crime, elements that can help quickly locate an abducted child.

A protocol that will be signed today at the Polícia Judiciária Superior School in Loures will associate several tens of public and private entities, including Lusa agency, which are apt to broadcast the message of abduction alert, with the judiciary and police authorities.

The creation of the national child abduction alert system follows the proposal that was presented during the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union at the
Justice and Home Affairs Council informal meeting, which took place in Lisbon, where Portugal proposed the creation of a Europe-wide mechanism.

in Lusa News Agency

Ms Jacqui SMITH, UK Secretary of State for the Home Department, Home Secretary,
Mr Rui PEREIRA, Portuguese Minister of the Interior

"Child abduction alert" System : Background and Objective

The Commission communication "Towards an EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child" of July 2006, and the informal Council meeting (JHA) on 1 and 2 October 2007, identified the need to develop cross-border mechanisms to combat child abduction in border areas. This concern is shared by the European Parliament, which, in a declaration adopted on 2 September 2008, called on the Member States to put alert mechanisms in place and to conclude cooperation agreements to allow for cross-border alerts.

The added value of such a mechanism is the ability to involve the public in getting information about a missing child. This mechanism helps to disseminate information widely and correctly, in the hours after the disappearance, by all means possible, such as e-mails, SMS on mobile phones, electronic advertising displays, illuminated signs on highways, flash information on radio and television, etc.

The Justice and Home Affairs Council meeting of 27 and 28 November 2008 adopted conclusions on "Child Alert" and invited Member States to introduce and develop national mechanisms to alert the public in case of criminal abduction of children, to define and arrange procedures for resolving cross-border abduction cases and to take as a basis for the establishment and development of these mechanisms, the good practices established by the European Commission.

The aim of this pilot project is to support EU Member States introducing child alert mechanisms, with a view to protecting children and to solve cross-border child abduction cases in an effective and efficient way.

Key Elements of a ''Child Abduction Alert" Mechanism

Such a mechanism:

• is meant to answer the need for a quick response in cases of child abduction;

• should involve the public: the proposed mechanism should not call on members of the public to intervene themselves, but to help in the search by immediately providing the authorities with any information likely to help find the child and his/her abductor and therefore to help a person in danger;

• is meant to be restricted to child abductions in circumstances in which there is reason to fear for the life of the child concerned;

• is meant to be used with caution, and only in very serious cases when public information can help. The mechanism would be jeopardised if used inappropriately or too often. The public might be overwhelmed and thus no longer be inclined to respond and help;

• should be based on a clear geographical scope (that may evolve over time) defined according to indications given by the investigation;

• should be based on a single "contact point" in each Member State.

Deciding to Launch the Alert

Existing mechanisms display various types of lines of command, responsibilities, partners involved and target audiences.

There are two main types of decision-making:

1. Law enforcement authorities decide whether or not to launch an alert, be it the police of its own accord or the police acting under the order/authorisation of a Public Prosecutor.

2. An organisation with official status regarding abducted children and able to provide services in cases of child abduction within the framework of a protocol signed with the national law enforcement authorities and listing the responsibilities and procedures to be followed.

The Common Criteria for Launching a Cross-border Alert

The added value of having alert mechanisms in all Member States is being able to launch alerts quickly and easily in border regions. The minimum common criteria for launching a cross-border alert would be that:

• the victim is a minor (i.e. under 18 years of age);

• it is a proven abduction or there are clear elements indicating that it could be a case of abduction;

• the health or the life of the victim is at high risk;

• information is available which, once disseminated, will allow the victim to be located;

• publication of this information is not expected to add to the risk facing the victim;

• there are good reasons to believe that the perpetrator has crossed the border with the child;

• the abduction occurred in a region very close to a border (or even several borders) that can be an escape route for the perpetrator.

The Content of an Alert Message

To facilitate the launch of a cross-border alert, the Member States would have to agree on a standard message including the following common fields in a predetermined order.

The information provided would be the following: :

• day, time and location of abduction;

• first name of victim and recent picture;

• if possible, information on the person suspected of having carried out the abduction (including description, if any);

• vehicle description (if any).

• a free phone number to be called and e-mail address.

The Format for the Posting of the Alert Message

Depending on the means used for dissemination, the message should be available in different formats:

• poster-style written information suitable for printed materials (posters and written press), for display on TV as info-spots and for display on websites;

• recorded vocal messages for television and radio broadcasters, public transport companies and motorways;

• podcasts for internet service providers;

• SMS and/or MMS-compatible written messages for dissemination to mobile phones.

Territorial Extension of the Alert

Most of the Member States are of a size that would justify launching the alert at national level. However, depending on the circumstances, more locally focused alerts may be needed. The choice between nationwide or regional/local is a decision to be taken by each Member State.

Some History : Commissioner Urges Adoption of French Missing Children System

Speaking on 17 January 2007, Justice and Home Affairs Commissioner Franco Frattini said: "The European Commission is ready to catalyse and provoke the necessary meetings among interested parties at European level," he stated, adding that "Europe must become...a guardian angel of its children and the world's children."

In France, police alert people within a 15km radius of a missing child reprt with SMSs and emails providing a description and urging vigilance. The zone widens to 30km and further as the investigation continues.

Credit card companies were also urged by the commissioner to adopt Visa Europe's policy of implementing digital protection measures that largel prevent customers from purchasing paedophile material on the internet.

Some 1,800 minors are reported missing each year in Italy, 1,000 in Belgium, 850 in the UK and 70,000 EUwide, according to Brussels statistics.

Frattini's audience at Paris's Elysée Palace included the Kings of Belgium and Sweden plus VIP wives Ludmilla Putin, Margarida Sousa Uva Barroso and Laura Bush and his is part of widereaching EU efforts to reduce child abuse in Europe.

In February, member states will be encouraged to set up a single telephone number 116000 accessible to anyone in the EU to raise the alarm on child abuse. Implementation is set to be tabled before the summer.

in Rapid - European Press Release

116 000 EU Missing Children Hotline Now Available in 10 Countries

Every day hundreds of children go missing in Europe and around the world. Some are never found but fortunately, most children are found within the first 24 hours of their disappearance thanks to the hard work of those dedicated to finding them.

On May 25th 2009, in 10 EU Member States it will be easier for parents to report a missing child, for the public to provide information on a missing child and for a missing child to find its way home.

In Belgium, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Slovakia help is only a phone call away: 116 000: the European Hotline for Missing Children.

116 000 is a “free-phone” number that is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week in the majority of the above mentioned countries. Calls are answered locally by trained and professional staff from organizations that were screened and assigned the number. These organizations work nationally and internationally with
police and justice agencies and other organizations dedicated to finding missing children.

They will help find someone who speaks your language, receive information and put you in touch with the local authorities who can help.

While we are proud of having achieved a unified number in 10 EU member states, we would urge the rest of the member states to ensure that 116 000 becomes operational in their countries as soon as possible. Each lost call may be the one that helps a child find its way home.

McCann Detectives Saga: The Second 'Suspect'

28 June 2009 | Posted by  12 comments

By Oliver Farrimond

DETECTIVES are to question a Scottish suspect over the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

Private investigators working for the McCanns have confirmed that they want to question the man, who is currently awaiting trial for murder and child sex offences in Barlinnie prison in Glasgow.

Already wanted by Spanish police in connection with the disappearance of a German boy, the man was spotted by a prison officer at Barlinnie due to his likeness to a pencil sketch of the chief Maddie suspect.

The insider said: “This man looks like the Maddie suspect drawing that has been in the papers.

“He is also well known to have spent a lot of time in the Spanish region – staff at the prison want the investigation team to speak to him.”

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, operated a cleaning firm for Spanish holiday homes [Rainbow Cleaning Services] when Maddie vanished in May 2007.

He is currently accused of murdering a 40-year-old woman from Ayrshire with an accomplice, reportedly because the pair feared she would report them for child sex abuse.

The woman went missing from Largs more than a decade ago, and the body has never been found.

Clarence Mitchell, spokesman for the McCanns, confirmed that investigators were trying to contact the man.

He said: “The investigators currently searching for Madeleine are aware of this man and they do want to speak to him.

“Any credible information they receive is, of course, followed up as top priority.”

Both men face further charges of sex abuse against children, child pornography and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Charged for a second time after the initial evidence was ruled insufficient, both lived in the Canary Islands and in Costa Blanca until being charged again last year.

Life for murder paedo wanted by Maddie tecs

By ANTONELLA LAZZERI [aka pro McCann-parents biased tabloid hack]

A SERIAL paedophile linked to the Madeleine McCann case was yesterday jailed for life for murder.

Charles O'Neill has repeatedly refused to be quizzed by detectives working for Maddie's parents Kate and Gerry.

But the private eyes will now try again. O'Neill, 47, is believed to have been in Portugal when Maddie, then three, vanished from an apartment in Praia da Luz on the Algarve in May 2007.

Yesterday he was sentenced for killing mum-of-three Allison McGarrigle who threatened to reveal he and gay lover William Lauchlan were abusing a child.

Ex-boxer O'Neill and Lauchlan, 33, strangled Allison 13 years ago in Largs, Ayrshire.

They dumped her body at sea and it has never been found.

The High Court in Glasgow ordered O'Neill to serve a minimum of 30 years and Lauchlan, a minimum of 26 years.

They were handed a further 10 years each for abusing two boys aged six and 14.

The pair had been jailed in 1988 over 31 charges of drugging and assaulting young children but were freed in 2002.

They fled to Spain and set up a cleaning business for holiday apartments.

They travelled to Portugal several times.

In April 2004 they abducted, drugged and abused a 15-year-old English boy in Spain.

O'Neill was still there three years later when seven-year-old Spanish Jeremy Vargus [Yeremi Vargas] vanished from Gran Canaria.

Two months later Maddie went missing - and O'Neill was thought to be on the Algarve at the time.

Jeremy's mother Ithaisa Suarez, 24, and Kate, 41, from Rothley, Leics, have written to each other regularly.

Kate and Gerry have also included information about the Jeremy case on their website. [read here to know what means «included in the McCann's dictionary]

Last night the McCanns' spokesman Clarence Mitchell confirmed: "Investigators have been fully aware of O'Neill and his background but have not been able to take him any further forward as an active line of investigation."

Judge Rui Rangel and former Polícia Judiciária coordinator Gonçalo Amaral expressed heavy criticism on the state of Justice, Safety and Criminal Investigation in Portugal, during the presentation of the book ‘Justice and Delinquency’, last Thursday, at the Alethêia bookshop, in Lisbon, which we had the pleasure of attending.

The session was presented by Eduardo Dâmaso, joint director of Correio da Manhã, and was attended by some of the authors, including forensics psychologist Paulo Sargento and lawyer Francisco de Almeida Garrett.

The book is a compilation of texts by Rui Rangel, Maria Clara Oliveira, Rui da Silva Leal, Paulo Sargento, Hernâni Carvalho, Maria dos Santos Ribeiro, Marta Daniela Seixas, Gonçalo Amaral, Manuel Augusto Meireis and Francisco de Almeida Garrett.

"The philosophy and the principle underlying criminal investigation, which is based on the figure of the Public Ministry, is wrong. I have always understood that criminal investigation should be founded, as it happened before, on the figure of the criminal instruction judge, the only entity that is truly unbiased, impartial and independent from all other powers. The Public Ministry’s autonomy, which must be defended at all times, and the criteria of objectivity that it is subject to, is not the same as being independent, even more so when, organically and statutorily, it is a hierarchical organisation of magistrates. Which is not the judges’ case.

And within these logics, it is even less justified that the archiving dispatches decreed by the Public Ministry, in any criminal process, are not subject to jurisdictional control.

None of this makes sense."

in: "Essay on the Phenomenon of Criminality versus Justice", by Rui Rangel - in 'Justice and Delinquency'

There will be another presentation of the book in Porto, on Tuesday, the 30th of June, at 5.30 p.m., at the Universidade Lusíada (Auditório 2).

Quote of the Day - Looking back on the Madeleine Case

25 June 2009 | Posted by  45 comments
Paris Match – Did you notice anything strange during your stay in the hotel?

Gerry McCann – Absolutely not, we had a very relaxing week. We were in a group of friends, we did plenty of things together, and at such times we don't pay attention to what is happening around us. We didn't see anything suspicious that week.

PM – Do you feel any guilt for having left your children alone on the evening of 3rd May?

Kate McCann – Of course we feel ourselves to blame for being at the restaurant when she disappeared. That will always be there, but the person who broke in and who took Madeleine is the most blameworthy, I think.

GM – We have no doubt, she was targeted.

KM – If we'd had to ask ourselves 'Are they safe?', we would never have left them. We never thought there was a risk. We thought we were being trustworthy and responsible. I did not think of the possibility of anybody breaking in. You never expect someone to come into where you are staying and take your child from her bed. The only reason for our comings and goings, it was in case they woke up.

On the McCanns' Globetrotting Celebrity Style
by Carol

They are still looking for Madeleine, are they? Perhaps, just perhaps, they might have had a better chance of finding Madeleine had they searched on the night of 3 May 2007.

Their little girl was missing, out there in the dark somewhere, but her parents said it was too dark for them to go out and actually search for their daughter.

It seems to me they wanted, and continue to want, everyone else to search for their daughter but won't get off their backsides to search for her themselves.

They can galavant around the world visiting American dignitaries, chat show hosts, the Pope and so on but IF (and it's an enormous IF) there was a chance that a man in Germany (Aachen) could possibly have some information about their daughter did they get off their backsides and go and plead to speak with him? No, they sent their defectives.

Speaking of which if they think that two ex police officers who have set themselves up as private detectives can go to Germany to question a "suspect" does that mean that a member of the Portuguese public could come across to Rothley in the UK and demand that Kate answer the 48 questions she refused to answer?

No- I thought not.

Calling the McCanns' Bluff
by Maria S.

And I who thought that last May, Madeleine was SOMEWHERE NEAR PRAIA DA LUZ. It was with these breaking news that Mr Dave Edgar made himself known to the world. BUT IT WAS A BLUUUUUUFFFFFF!!!!!

One year ago, Maddie sightings and avid witnesses looking for their 5 minutes of glory, even if only in the neighbourhood gazette, were parading. Today, paedophiles, supposedly abductors, still and only Englishmen, parade. Soon it’ll be Europeans… global ones, to fit the crime where they are ridiculously submerged. I’ll applaud if some day there is boldness and courage to present the paedophiles of Casa Pia on the circus’ stage. Not the Bibis, but the other ones… those who walked in the glow of television sets and in the skies of parliament, THE GALACTICOS.

After all, Leonor Cipriano was awarded her moments of glory on the Madeleine stage, why shouldn’t the famous paedophiles of Casa Pia? They were on the loose on the 3rd of May of 2007 in a village near Praia da Luz, somewhere in Portugal.

What an INJUSTICE that they only think of the POOR, the SICK and the UNFORTUNATE, living somewhere between almost poverty and outright mendacity. There are others… as likely as these ones and who deserve to be dearly remembered and harassed by Mr Dave Edgar.

The first one was named Hewlett, now they are “nameless”. It’s bothersome to give the abductor a name, even if he’s a paedophile. There’s always someone who unmasks the story. There’s always some who comments, who despises, who discredits.

Poor Kate, she built a dream to try to fool this nightmare without a due date – to illusion justice, searching for the daughter that nobody sees, saw or will dare to see. And like the smoke, that was a dense and dark cloud on that fateful night of May 3rd, but which slowly transformed into a soft, light smoke, dispersed in the stratosphere of eternity. Yet, it didn’t dissolve… It will condense and return in the shape of rain… intense, strong, involving like the light in Maddie’s eyes that are no longer lost contemplating the days… the little girl dreams unfulfilled, erased in childhood.

Meanwhile, the poor mother appeals. She wants the REAL MOTHERS (because she remains a pretendy mother) search for the daughter that she didn’t care over, spreading the product that she sells IN DIVERSE PACKAGES AND DIVERSE WAYS OF PAYMENT – the virtual image of a DAUGHTER whose similarity with reality will always be the most improbable coincidence.

This mother does business in reverse, in a world turned upside down: SHE SELLS PUBLICITY IN HER OWN CAUSE. Unbelievable… ridiculous. Any firm pays for its TV, newspapers, etc, their air time or the space for their advertising. “LEAVE NO STONE UNTURNED” supplies publicity, which is not free of charge for those who consume it. And it's paid by the public that it is destined for.

Let's re-invent the pillars of market economy, because this business is only possible in the minds of fools.

Maddie is going to condense and come down like a whirlwind in any given year. Then we won’t see a parade of witnesses or abductors, we’ll see a parade of criminals, denounced one after another by each one that preceded him. It will be the madness of a nightmare, dissolving a dream that has a due date after all.

Think about it, Kate, and don’t fool yourself with the fantasy of publicity. BEING A MOTHER IS A GAME WHERE ONE CANNOT PRETEND…

More McCann Smoke and Mirrors to keep the cash rolling in.

The so called detectives also known as the McCann Mafia will continue to keep wetting their beaks and keeping their noses in the trough by promoting as much disinformation as possible just to keep drawing on the Macon funds.

This bunch of cowboys are poring scorn upon the Portuguese Police, Justice System and the Portuguese people.

Those in control of the Portuguese justice system have lost all honour, integrity and the respect of not only the Portuguese people but also most of the European peoples.

The tourist industry will suffer much more as people will not visit a country where the police force is derogated internationally by a PR machine paid for by the McCann’s which is being so successful in demonstrating that the Portuguese police system is totally ineffective and unable to function in bringing justice to all and in particular to children.

The McCann’s are making fools of the whole of Portugal in the eyes of most normal people.

Justice for the daughter of the McCann’s will not come from the Portuguese system but from individuals.

Give A Voice To This Reader ( anonymous from Scotland)

Mr and Mrs McCann made a huge error of judgement in leaving their children in the hotel in Portugal and they, their wider family and Madeleine of course have paid for it the most terrible way. Unfortunately this sad situation has become the daily diet of many bloggers, forum posters and global newspapers. Many are sympathetic to the situation that the McCanns find themselves in, not because they agree with what they did but because there is an element, mostly within cyberworld, who have denigrated and vilified these people unmercifully, forgetting that there is no evidence of them committing any crime against their daughter.

There would appear to be a clique of people who have gotten together to do this and have done so from day one and if they’re not agreed with the people at the other end are bullied or their voices are quashed, probably as mine will be. People here have said that the reputation of Portugal has been wasted by the McCanns, but I would say any reputations that have been wasted in Portugal have been done so by this clique of people one of which has proven himself to be an out and out liar. The latter however has had his views and articles spread all over the internet for all to see, complete with his lies and his cons. Many of his associates are tainted with this lying particularly when you think that the same people were involved in commenting on, or were infact, involved in the covering up of evidence in a case of torture of which, I might add, he was found guilty. The people he was covering up for were let off on a technicality, nothing else.

It is my opinion that the McCann’s have tried their best to find their daughter. I despair when I hear folk stupidly saying they should be out looking. How ridiculous. Looking where? After the initial search, that was and is the police services’ job and they couldn’t find anything could they? What do you want them to do, knock ever door in the world and demand entry to do a search. Can you imagine the reception they would get if they tried to do this in Portugal. Well I can guess having seen the treatment dished out when the new posters were put up. Hardly inspiring!

They have received the help of many people because these same people could see what was happening, that they would be run into the ground if something wasn’t done to counterbalance all the lies and deceit coming out of Portugal and repeated here in the media. Not only that the search for Madeleine was being hampered by it all which is the saddest thing. I am not blaming the people of Portugal for this, so stop kidding yourself, stop spreading such lies, using it as an excuse to persecute the McCanns.

Look closer to home to some of you own, who have turned this poor child’s disappearance into a circus and in many cases a “business” instead of working together to find a missing child, which would benefit us all.

McCann's Suspect Sketch

22 June 2009 | Posted by  22 comments

From the video author:

According to Madeleine McCann's parents, she disappeared during the night from the hotel apartment where she was sleeping with her two siblings. Her parents have admitted they left the 3 children alone while they had diner with friends nearby and claimed that they were taking turns checking on the children.

They have from the beginning defended their version of the events where an alleged paedophile has broken into the apartment and abducted Madeleine, although the Police has found no evidence of abduction.

The parents have issued a new sketch of the "suspect", the 4th to come out since 2007. Moustache, no moustache, long hair, short hair, all sizes and shapes - one thing is common though - the bastard has to be bloody ugly.

Judge for yourself.

Ways You Can Help

Many people have been deeply moved by Madeleine's abduction and subsequent separation from her family and have asked us how they can help us in our search to find her.
Below is a list of suggestions which you may wish to consider in order to help assist our efforts to find Madeleine and bring her home.
We really appreciate your help with this difficult task.

1. Donate to Madeleine's Fund ‘Leaving No Stone Unturned': This can be done via several routes including via the website.

2. Fundraising: This is a good way of getting people together, maintaining awareness of Madeleine's situation as well as raising money for Madeleine's Fund. For further information, please see ‘Fundraising' section under ‘Support' tab.

3. Wear a Madeleine wristband or T-shirt: Again this will increase awareness and contribute towards Madeleine's Fund, as well as being a show of solidarity.

4. Download the new age-progression poster of Madeleine from the website and display it in prominent places within the UK and abroad. The posters are available in many different languages and we would be really grateful if you would take them with you when going on your holidays. 1 in 6 children are found after their face being recognised from a poster. It really helps!!!

5. Car stickers, Luggage tags and Prayer cards: If you are going on holiday, in addition to the new posters you could take one of our Madeleine car stickers to display in your (hire) car. If you would like some car stickers or some Madeleine luggage tags, please contact our campaign email address and leave your details- campaign@findmadeleine.com
If you are going on a pilgrimage this year, we would be grateful if you would take some Madeleine prayer cards with you for distribution. These are available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German. Again, please send us your details via the campaign email address- campaign@findmadeleine.com

6. Ideas / Offers of Assistance: If you have any ideas or specialist skills (printing, fundraising, IT skills, haulage firms etc) and are willing to help us in our search for Madeleine (campaign or investigation), please email your details to campaign@findmadeleine.com.

7. Carry a Madeleine ‘business card' in your wallet or purse at all times (available June 2009). This will allow you to have instant access to a photograph of her and the investigation contact number, should you see a little girl who looks like Madeleine or anything else which you consider suspicious and related to her disappearance. Alternatively, transfer a photograph of Madeleine to your mobile phone and save the investigation helpline number in your contacts.

8. Social networking sites: If you are a member of ‘facebook', ‘myspace' or other social networking sites, maybe you could add a Madeleine banner to your site and make the ‘find madeleine' site your top ‘friend' or put it on your home page.

9. Encourage others to help:
· Contact your friends and family especially those living in other parts of Europe and beyond and ask them if they're willing to help us in our search too.
· If you have any business contacts at home or overseas ask if they'll carry the Madeleine poster on their website and/or a link to the official website.
· If there is a tourist information office near to where you live, maybe you could ask if they would display a Madeleine poster in their office or make posters available for foreign tourists to take back home with them
· If you are a university student or have contact with a university, we would be grateful if you could ask any students who are travelling abroad to take posters with them to distribute on their travels.
· Talk to 5 people today about Madeleine and remind them she is still missing!

10. Join Support Groups: The ‘Helping to Find Madeleine' group was set up independently shortly after Madeleine's abduction, by caring people wanting to help with the search for Madeleine. The organisation has helped support our campaign over the past 2 years. Please visit www.helpingtofindmadeleine.org

We are so grateful to everyone who has helped us. It is incredibly reassuring that so many people our trying to find Madeleine. Please keep looking and thinking. Madeleine needs our help. Thank you.

Fund Raising

We thank you for your interest in fund raising to support Madeleine's fund. Many donations have resulted from a variety of fund raising events. These have included Car Boot sales, jumble sales, school cake sales, race nights, sponsored runs & cycle events, ‘dress down' days, auctions & ‘cheese & wine' nights.

These events have further highlighted Madeleine's plight as well as bringing many people together to have fun whilst working towards one common goal.

We would be grateful if you are considering fund raising that you do not refer to Madeleine's fund as a registered charity as it is not. If you are embarking on a type fund raising which may carry an element of risk you may wish to consider your position regarding insurance cover. If you require further information please refer to:

Ways you can help

Many people haven’t realised yet that there are unanswered questions concerning Madeleine’s disappearance and have asked how they can help perpetuate our circus.
Below is a list of suggestions which you may wish to consider in order to help us.
We really appreciate your help because we couldn’t be bothered to do anything ourselves.

1. Donate

2. Get others to donate

3. Buy our products

(so far, so good, eh? now for the subversive bit:)

4. Scare people off their holiday destination

5. Vandalise your hire car

6. Work for us for free

7. Harass innocent people everywhere

8. Dump your best friend for us

9. Get everyone you know to cooperate with any of the above

10. Join HTFM and pretend you didn’t know we sponsored them

(insert a bit of blah blah blah here to make all of this look respectable)

The full objects of the Fund are:

. To perpetuate the abduction theory against any sane, reasonable arguments

. To avoid that Madeleine’s disappearance is thoroughly investigated by any legitimate police force in any country whatsoever; and

. To provide support, including financial assistance, to Madeleine’s family.

. As the above subject will never be fulfilled – it’ll be a heck of a long time until Madeleine’s family stops needing financial assistance –, never mind other missing kids.

Whatever you do, always avoid using a spelling/grammar corrector.

And don’t you forget about our best buddy, the PayPal button!

An Update

General Update - 19th June 2009

There has been much reported in the media recently about Raymond Hewlett. As far as our investigators are aware, there is no evidence to link him to Madeleine –he is a person of interest to the inquiry rather than a suspect. Following the sensationalised reporting in certain sections of the media with regards to Mr Hewlett, our investigators wished to interview him in order to eliminate him from the inquiry. Despite our investigators requests via Mr Hewlett’s lawyer, their attempts to conduct an interview were unsuccessful as we were simply unwilling to pay. It is very disappointing that certain elements of the media felt it appropriate to pay a convicted paedophile (whether that be directly or indirectly) in order to obtain a ‘story’, whilst those people who are qualified to carry out such enquiries and who are genuinely looking for Madeleine were unable to do so.

On a more positive note, we have recently been planning a summer campaign in the hope that holiday-makers, travel companies and transport agencies will help us again in our search for Madeleine. So far, things are looking promising and we will soon have ‘travel packs’ available via the website for anyone willing to help in this way. We greatly appreciate the continued help and support we are receiving from the general public. It’s incredibly reassuring and uplifting that over two years down the line so many people still want to help. Without doubt, it will increase our chance of finding Madeleine.

On Tuesday evening, we took part in the Rothley & Soar Valley Lions 10K road race here in the village. Twenty of us (family and friends) wore our Madeleine t-shirts and that together with cheers of encouragement from spectators, made it all worthwhile. It was a really enjoyable evening and a fantastically well-supported event. We’re already talking about next years run! Hopefully we wont be needing to wear our t-shirts for that one.

EXCLUSIVE: NEW KEY SUSPECT IN PRISON

MCCANN: Still missing, 2 years on

Sunday June 21,2009
By James Murray and Tracey Kandohla

DETECTIVES believe a man being held in a UK prison on a murder charge may hold vital information about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

They say he was in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz on the day Madeleine vanished in May 2007, just before her fourth birthday.

The investigators working for the McCann family are now trying to build up an extensive picture of his movements in the Algarve resort at the time.

They are anxious to learn if he was staying near the McCanns’ holiday apartment and if he had any contact with the family.

The astonishing development came in the wake of huge international publicity last month which included a televised reconstruction [not quite a reconstruction, the full Tapas group was missing] of Madeleine’s disappearance and an emotional appeal for help from parents Kate and Gerry McCann.

The man in the spotlight cannot be identified for legal reasons because he is in jail accused of a murder which took place in this country.

Retired Detective Inspector Dave Edgar, who is heading the McCanns’ investigation, would like to question him about his movements in Portugal but recognises that he may not get an opportunity to speak to him until after his trial.

The Sunday Express can reveal that he is one of seven potential suspects Mr Edgar is trying to rule in or out of his complex investigation.

He has recently been to Praia da Luz to try to check the alibi of a British paedophile who strongly resembles a the description of a man seen looking intently at the McCanns’ apartment shortly before Madeleine disappeared. [back to 'Pimple Man' as a suspect again]

The man, who lives permanently in Portugal, was interviewed by Portugese police two years ago because of his child-abuse past.

During intensive questioning he told detectives he was visiting the capital Lisbon when Madeleine was went [sic] missing on May 3.

To back up his alibi, he produced receipts showing he withdrew cash from ATM machines in Lisbon that day which he said proved he was hundreds of miles away at the relevant time.

However, Mr Edgar understands the man regularly stayed at an address in the Praia da Luz area during the summer and had once rented an apartment there.

He is trying to discover if there was any CCTV operating at the machines where the man withdrew the cash, which would conclusively prove he was in Lisbon at the time or whether someone else withdrew the money.

Confidential information on him was gathered by Portugese detectives who wrote several pages about him for their 14-volume dossier on the case. [17 Volumes in fact (sigh)]

However, their vital information on the potential prime suspect was among 100 pages withdrawn from the dossier just before it was released to the public last year.

He, too, cannot be identified for legal reasons, but he is said to bear close resemblance to the description of a man seen peering intently at the apartment where Madeleine was staying shortly before she vanished.

The news came as Kate and Gerry made a fresh appeal to travel firms and holidaymakers to help “increase the chance” of finding their daughter.

The doctors from Rothley, Leicestershire, said yesterday: “We have recently been planning a summer campaign in the hope that holiday makers, travel companies and transport agencies will help us again in our search for Madeleine.”

In their internet appeal Kate, 41, and Gerry, 40, wrote: “So far, things are looking promising and we will soon have ‘travel packs’ available via the website for anyone willing to help.

“We greatly appreciate the continued help and support we are receiving from the general public.”

In Portugal a police officer who attended the kidnap scene on the night Maddie disappeared has been dramatically suspended over allegations of a suspicious £100,000 payment.

He and a colleague were widely criticised for failing to seal off the crime scene or keep people away, potentially destroying vital forensic clues.

The uniformed officer is now under investigation It is not yet known if the payment he allegedly received was in any way connected with the Madeleine investigation.

McCann Detectives in new Mov(i)e

20 June 2009 | Posted by  10 comments
Private detectives investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann want to speak to a man who is currently on remand in a British jail.

The man, who is accused of murder, is one of seven people the team hired by Madeleine's parents to hunt for the little girl hope to interview, a source confirmed.

Madeleine, from Rothley, Leics, was nearly four when she went missing while on holiday with her family in Portugal two years ago.

Clarence Mitchell, spokesman for the McCanns, refused to comment on the revelations, saying: "A number of individuals remain as persons of interest to the Madeleine investigators.

"However, the investigators will not be naming or identifying any of those persons of interest.

"No competent investigation would be expected to do so whilst the inquiries continue."

Madeleine disappeared from Praia da Luz in the Algarve on May 3, 2007 while her parents Gerry and Kate McCann dined with friends nearby.

Despite a massive police investigation and huge publicity worldwide, she has not been found.

Maddie Case: GNR Suspect of Receiveing 120.000 Euros

19 June 2009 | Posted by  17 comments

He was one of the first agents to arrive in Praia da Luz. PJ is already investigating the handover of “live” money

One of the Guarda Nacional Republicana agents who was first to arrive at the resort in Praia da Luz and at the McCann couple’s apartment is suspected of having received over 120 thousand euros of “live” money, a short time after Maddie’s disappearance. This GNR officer is essential to the entire investigation, given the fact that he was among the first to arrive at the location where the little girl disappeared, and also one of the first people to get into contact with the parents.

TVI has established that the case of the sudden 120 thousand euros in the GNR officer’s hands is being investigated by the Polícia Judiciária (PJ).

On the night that Maddie McCann disappeared, the first authorities to arrive on location were the GNR officers. It was their task to search the apartment, to perform the initial searches, to speak with the McCann couple, and to direct the searches on the beach and in the village, namely the open areas where sewer and piping works were under way, only tens of metres away from the resort that the British family had booked for their holidays.

Gerry’s suspicious walk

According to depositions that were made within the process, the GNR agents even witnessed a walk by Gerry McCann, late in the night, near the church in Praia da Luz. All fundamental moments to understand what happened to the missing child.

TVI knows that one of the first agents that took care of the event is being targeted by an inquiry. The issue is an amount of over 120 thousand euros that were received in cash, on two bank accounts under his name, one of which at Caixa Geral de Depósitos. The most serious coincidence is that the money started being deposited, on those accounts, only a short time after the disappearance of little Madeleine McCann.

This amount is much higher than that of a GNR officer’s salary and was deposited on “live” money, according to investigation sources, in parts of over 10 thousand euros.

Officer denies deposits

The investigation into these deposits is being carried out by DCICCEF [Central Directory for the Investigation of Corruption and Economical and Financial Crime], which tries to understand the reasons for these payments. Even if their illegality is proved, a connection to the Maddie case may not exist, despite the strong temporal coincidence and the high amount of money.

Contacted by TVI, the officer denied the existence of said deposits, having offered the possibility that his name was unduly used to open those accounts. Police sources in the area manifested their strangeness concerning the possibility that this officer, whom they consider of honest reputation, could be involved in illegal actions.

News on the British Paedophile are Not Sufficient to Reopen the Investigation

Snapshot from the Public Ministry Process distributed to the media

The Attorney General Office, considered today that the recent news about the British paedophile Raymond Hewlett being close to the holiday apartments in Praia da Luz, from where Madeleine McCann disappeared are not sufficient to reopen the investigation.

In a reply sent to the news Agency Lusa, regarding the news advanced by the British press who present as a 'suspect' the British paedophile, because he was in the Algarve at the same time of the English child disappearance, the Attorney General Office stated that «speculations, opinions or comments are not enough to reopen the investigation».

According to the Attorney General Office, «when solid facts emerge, that the magistrates coordinating the process consider to be relevant and credible, the process will be reopened» relative to the disappearance of the British child.

However, the Attorney General Office advanced that «they are attentive to the signs that are appearing».

Raymond Hewlett, 64 years old, was allegedly living in Tavira, about one hour from Praia da Luz, in May 2007, at the time of the disappearance of the British child, while on vacations with the family.

The former soldier, according to the newspaper Daily Mail, has a history of known attacks on girls dating back to 1972, when he was convicted of abuses to a 12 year old girl.

According to the daily The Sun, Raymond Hewlett, was questioned by the Portuguese Police, but provided an alibi that cleared him of any suspicions.

Madeleine McCann disappeared on the 3rd of May 2007 from the bedroom where she slept with her younger twin brother and sister, from an apartment in the tourist resort 'Ocean Club', in Praia da Luz, district of Lagos, in the Algarve.

The parents, both doctors, dined at the time with a group of British friends in a restaurant of the tourist resort, about 50 meters away of the apartment.

The family kept the position from the start that Madeleine was abducted.

Until now the authorities have failed to know what really happened; the Public Ministry archived the case, which can be reopened if new data emerges on the disappearance of Madeleine.

In 2007 I used to follow a few blogs to learn about the Madeleine McCann case, one of those blogs was SOS Maddie, written by a freelance Belgium journalist, 'Duarte Levy'. As many others, I had the impression that 'Duarte Levy' was a man that knew through investigative journalism and that had in his possession documents which he would use as a basis to then write articles about the Madeleine case.

Later in 2008, Duarte Levy wanted to meet me, at the time I was on the North of Portugal at my family's house, and he travelled there to meet me and to talk about the case. What I didn't know at the time is that Duarte Levy 'studies' very well his soon to be victims, before he does the operation 'Charm & Con'.

Anyway let's stop calling this man of 'Duarte Levy' since that is not his real name. Let's call him by the name that his Portuguese parents gave him: Nuno Miguel Duarte, being Duarte his family name, a common name in Portugal like Silva or Lopes.

So, in 2008, this man, wanted to meet me. Obviously I was absolutely excited for knowing someone that could fill in the gaps, with whom I could exchange information and ideas. He presented himself as being Duarte Levy, a freelancer journalist who worked with the Times, the Sun, Hareetz, La Dèrniere Heure, El Mundo and several other papers which I don't recall - the Times and El Mundo being the only newspaper that I could confirm the veracity of his allegations [that is regarding the Madeleine McCann affair previous to that...nothing exists].

When I questioned that his name 'Duarte Levy' didn't appear in the on-line newspapers or that his professional past as a freelance journalist simply wasn't traceable he told me that he wrote under a few alias, one of them being Simon de Bruxelles [profile at journalisted.com; facebook and twitter];  the twitter social profile of Simon de Bruxelles has  however a striking similarity with 'Duarte Levy' & 'Arthur Finkelstein' twitter profiles, updates, similar followers, etc.. As a final consideration on these three tweeter profiles, I can only assume that the journalist 'Duarte Levy' uses this 'sock puppets' to sustain his own allegations and to, in the public view, assume a credible professional image.

There is also another fake on-line character, just created to praise and divulge his work - a kind of split personality syndrome - named DJorn - which as 'Duarte Levy' himself explained to me was a nick created by adding his name 'Duarte' with 'Jornalista' [Journalist].

Djorn, is a member of three arguidos, which has defended his '«master's voice» several times, even affirmed that he and Duarte Levy are totally different persons - interestingly Djorn posted several times on the 3 Arguidos Forum using - guess what - my own IP address, attributed by TVCABO operator [see screenshots bellow] - which is odd, to say the least, considering that I never met Djorn. Or did I?

Another interesting situation is how Djorn was also able to connect to the internet via TMN GPRS operator, an account that 'Duarte Levy' asked me to open for him, affirming that he would pay me every month, since he didn't have a Portuguese home address to give - a condition to have a mobile net service. Yes, gullibly, I opened that account with my name, my home address and ended up paying more than 1000 Euros - and this is not an easy thing to assume in front of unknown persons: I was defrauded.

Screen shot of a few of DJorn's IP's addresses

One example of DJorn IP's which is my TV CABO IP address

Moving on and resuming what could become very quickly a long tale.

'Duarte Levy' upholds a professional image that has no basis at all and that no one (not even colleagues) are able to verify, this despite several attempts to corroborate a highly unlikely professional past history; he alleges to have immeasurable contacts and knowledge to the highest levels than can never be verified [José Socrates, Ricardo Paiva, Lopes da Mota, Clarence Mitchell, Paulo Rebelo, etc]; he fantasises, deceives about the possession of explosive documentation whose existence cannot be proved and when confronted or urged to demonstrate the veracity of fantasist allegations, has always a ready-made answer. If pressured, he reacts in an aggressive and/or a victimizing behaviour, never recognizing that he can be in error, even keeping fantasised characters to sustain his allegations.

The conclusion that I arrived is that this man exhibits a pattern of systematic lies, of compulsive nature, he is someone who is a fantasist, a megalomaniac and without any doubts a pathological liar.

A few examples

A debate about the Maddie Case to happen on the previous month of May, 2nd - which no one saw, heard, or went even though that he has stated that it did happen - in two different places to different people, at Fábrica do Braço de Prata in Lisbon, and at University Lusófona. I personnally had to advise a friend to not buy a plain ticket or to make Hotel reservations.

A few ladies, members of the Forum SOS Maddie were promised a book full of explosive and exclusive documents, the book was supposed to be called 'Maddie.Net'. Several ladies paid more than 23 Euros each for a reservation of the said book. The book was never published. See screenshot bellow.

There are other stories essentially similar to the above mentioned, some which I could only explain betraying the confidence deposited in me. Suffice to say that I had to erase all the knowledge gathered in the past two years through 'Duarte Levy' articles.

It's time to move on, and concentrate on what really matters.

To all my readers, a word of encouragement: I will be here fighting for the Truth, no matter what.

Credibility and journalism by Paulo Reis

«As a journalist since 1982, I always did my best to check and confirm, with several and reliable sources, all facts and information in the articles I published, either alone or co-authored. Serious allegations were raised by Joana Morais, a blogger that I know and respect, concerning the credibility of Mr. Duarte Levy, with whom I co-authored many articles about Madeleine Mccann's investigation.

My credibility is also seriously damaged, due to my association with him. A journalist's credibility takes a long time to build but it's a fragile thing. A single mistake is enough to destroy it. Once lost, it's almost impossible to have it back. So, I decided to stop writing about this case.
