O novo livro de Gonçalo Amaral, com o título "Vidas sem Defesa", está prestes a ser lançado. A apresentação da obra terá lugar na Livraria Barata, em Lisboa, no próximo dia 11 de Novembro, pelas 18h30, com a presença do autor, e do Dr. Paulo Sargento, autor do prefácio. "Vidas sem Defesa" aborda a problemática do desaparecimento de crianças em Portugal e noutros países.
Gonçalo Amaral's new book, titled "Vidas sem Defesa" ("Defenceless Lives") will be presented on the 11th of November, at 6.30 p.m., at Livraria Barata, in Lisbon. The book focuses on the disappearance of children, both in Portugal and abroad. "Vidas sem Defesa" will be presented by Gonçalo Amaral and Dr. Paulo Sargento, the author of the preface.

Maravilhoso. Onde/ Como pode ser adquirido por quem mora fora de Portugal?
Something must be going on in Portimao.At first, Amaral would publish his book on last May but for some reason he delayed it, although his book was already ready. Commenting Kate's book or did he wait because the Scotland Yard got involved in the case and he expected to be able to tell more?
Does this new book have a connection with the review, like his first book had a connection with the publication of the files in 2008? And is something about to happen one of these days? Does he think that we have to be informed before it happens, in order to understand things better?
I hate secrecy!

as truthful and concise as the last book then im sure we are all in for an absolute treat...anything has to be better than the tripe kat threw in the bookshops, i have heard nothing but extremaly bad reviews about that book on how it was most obvious to whome ever read it that it was written by someone else........GOODLUCK MR AMARAL NEXT YEAR ..

I have been thinking about Madeleine,it's time that the british government and Mr Cameron did something about it,he should contact the Portuguese PM and ask him to give Mr Amaral his job back and reopen the case also to find out why Mr Brown and Mitchell visited him in the beginning and was the result to give Mr Amaral the sack. Were they all afraid that the truth would come out.Maddie died in the flat and money has been made out of it. Germany.

I was fearing we would never see this book. I wonder why it took so long before he published it. There must be a good reason behind this.
The McCanns will sue Amaral again, spending the rest of the money of the fund.
They bet keep it for the lawyers in Portugal. They will need it because I believe there will be a trial.
Probably the reconstruction of that night did not happen yet, otherwise somebody would have told it to the Portuguese media and we would have known it. I see the McCanns fighting back, refusing to go to Praia da Luz.
But if an English judge order them to go, they will have to. Of course as witness or as victims, not as prisioners.
Is Kate going to visit Algarve today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow?
She usually does, at the begin of November.
I suspect she will stay home, safely, "incredibly busy with the campaign".

There doesn't seem to be much hope of Dr Amaral's book "The Truth of the Lie" being sold here or in any other English speaking country. Thanks to "You Tube" I have been able to access "The Truth of the Lie",although I would rather have had the opportunity to buy the book. Buying the book would have put some money into Dr Amaral's bank account.

Dandelion, you can always buy Dr Amaral's book in another language. This will give you the double pleasure of increasing his income, and when you come across someone who needs enlightening who speaks the language the book is in - Portuguese, German, French, whatever - you can donate the copy to them, with the request that they later pass it on to someone elee who can understand it. I have copies of the Truth of the Lie in French and German, both of which I can read, and The English Gag in Portuguese (which I can't, unfortunately!)

Sunday Express of May the 1st 2011(see McCann Files) talks about Kate's visit to Praia da Luz on the 1st and going back home on the evening of the 2nd of May 2011. Again spending the 2nd in Praia da Luz, and not the 3rd.
I continue believing Maddie died late in the night of the 2nd or at the beginning of the 3rd, and the parents are not sure about the time, and they consider it as being the date they saw her alive for the last time: the 2nd.
Last year Kate went to the Mass on the 2nd and went home on the 3rd.
If ist is true, they had nearly 24 hours to plan the concealing of the body.
And it is why Gerry was on a hurry to publish Maddie's last photo.
And it is also why Maddie did not go to the beach with the rest of the group.
On their documentary, Kate says that she had difficulties to see Madeleine in her bed, because it was dark.
And that, after the window and the shutters were open, and there was more light from outside.
But Gerry looked down, he saw how beautiful she was and he thought how lucky he was, that all, when the window, the shutters and the courtains were still closed.
If the Tapas were checking on the children every half hour, every night,
how come Maddie cried for 75 minutes without being noticed?
Tanner thought: Odd! because it was cold and the child only in pajamas.
Gerry: "It was hot, she was lying in a recovering position", not even sheets...
13, yes, Amaral's books will be translated in English, by Kate and Gerry and under Mitchell's supervision.
That is what the Scotland Yard told me.
Someday after this crime is solved, somebody will write a doctoral thesis analysing the combination of lies, manipulation,sociopathie,fraude,irresponsibility, selfishness, danger,intentional death, narcisism, money, richness of sick parents.
It will be called The McCann symdrom.
I'm sure psychiatry will make a study of this case and it will inspire a new thesis.

Pity his new book doesn´t mention the Mcs, but there would be a reason why. Dr Amaral is a fine man, i have been waiting for any surprises he may hold but they wont appear in this book. Seems the PJ will never reopen this case.
i think if the Mcs want to find out what happened to Maddie they should sack their private detectives who have produced nothing, and hire Dr Amaral and Dr Paulo Sargento, they will soon solve the mystery.
What a Karma for Kate Mccann...after publishing 'Madeleine' she will be not able to publish anything again( nobody believes her anymore) but she legitimate all the books GA could write and publish. The public is fascinated by what Mr. Amaral can say or think, no matter if he mentions Madeleine or not. The public will always read every sentence, having Madeleine on the mind. The PJ Inspector, was the only one who really care about that girl and I believe he will not rest until he exposes the truth.
You Kate and Gerry, made a wrong decision on the day you decide to ellect who searched your daughter, an enemy.

The McCanns' hobby is to shoot in their own feet.
In 2007 they were the ones who asked Daniel Krugel to come from South Africa and to localise the body.
He came, he advised the dogs, and the McCanns were made arguidos.
Later the McCanns remained complaining about the Prime Minister and about Theresa May,Kate wrote her book asking the public to help the parents continuing being a pain in the government's ass, and Theresa and Cameron involved the Scotland Yard in the case.
And let us not forget that Kevin spent their money.

Why aren't the media in the UK pressuring and criticising the SY to hurry up and to inform what is going own?

Bad news for the Mccann's: Pat Brown will be in Portugal next February, for trial and for searching. She announced it on Twitter ( Jillhavernforum).
The economy in the UK is not good at all. The government is cutting budgets everywhere, it is as worrying as it is in the euro region.And the McCanns know and knew it before.Besides, the Madeleine case is a Portuguesee matter, they have being told a 1000 of times. They were sure that they were walking on a safe ground, that's why they kept irritating the British government and, irritating it as much as they could, the couple knew the government would not do anything to help them.
What a schock it must have been when they learned the Scotland Yard had gotten involved in the case.
And a schock for Tapas 7 that want to ged rid of this story.
They are all in serious trouble because they helped to hide a serious crime and they incriminated the innocent Murat. Perjury.
By now at least one of them must have confessed the truth to the police who are preparing the arrestation.
Everything must be already ready before the police arrive at their homes, inviting them to the airport.
All of them will get arrested at the same moment, probably at the very early hours of a morning.

Defenceless lives is about children without a voice and as Maddie fits in the category I am sure Maddie will get a mention in the book. Just have to wait and see what he says about the mccanns case.

Yvonne Martin recognized David Payne and I think David Payne recognized her as well. Whilsh she was wondering who he was,trying to remember under which circunstances she had seen him, he immediately knew who she was.

I regret Dr. Carlos Pinto de Abreu disappeared from this case. Nice,lovely handsome man, but the McCanns don't deserve him.
I remember him physicaly touching Kate's and Gerry's arms,smiling at them on a tender way, on the night they were made arguidos, something that English people definitely don't do.
The quietness and the silence of the Mccann's is very relevant. On the previous years, at that time their precious papers were already wasting paper while publishing what kind of presents the twins and the grannies were preparing for Madeleine, for Christmas.

The McCanns irritated Portugal, the priest, the PJ, the public, Amaral, the Portuguese Justice, they went back to England where they irritated the media and short ago they irritated Cameron and Theresa May.
I wonder if they will dare to irritate the Scotland Yard.

They both sound mentally disable or they both were brought up as spoiled children, getting all the presents they wanted, all the time.
They were able to learn at school, they became doctors, they became a success in the society but in their own vieuw it was not enough. They wanted more attention, more success, consuls, ambassadors, Pope, Prime Ministers, more money... and not to forget, the media at their side.
Sometimes we would see Philomena, which was not exaclty a charming propaganda,but still a propaganda, protecting her little handsome, photogenic brother and her thin photogenic sister in law, Hotlips.
Used to success and protection since they were little children, they could not expect the Mep getting involved in the case.If they had wanted their intervenience, they would have asked for it, personally.
But they din't.They never wanted to take the risk.
It was not part of the plan.
Kate and Gerry said in interviews that the worst darkest days were the two first ones:(would their plan work out?).Uncle Kennedy poured money on them and the world started do do the same.Their plan was working and they felt relieved.
At least one journalist asked Kate how came that she suddenly got a lot better, a few (maybe two)days after, and Kate said they were receiving so much support...(the world was believing their story).
Those two first days must have been terrifying, specially because they knew Gerry was seeing by the Smiths, a bunch of people.
And they explained why it was so bad, the scenario of Madeleine being abused and killed. For only two days and on the third they were relieved?
Their darkest thoughts were caused also by the Smiths, completely against the plan. (And perhaps the complaints of Mrs. Fenn to the Ocean Club, the day before).What a miserable moments!
In my opinion this disappearence was premeditated, Portugal, no baby sitter even after the cry incident, no monitors, appeal to ambassador, consuls, Gordon Brown, making money.In England they would not have made it.
Somewhere I read that Mrs Fenn warned the Ocean Club about a crying child.
That was on Wednesday. And the disappearence took place on Thursday.
Did both parents take part in the plan or only Kate?
How could Gerry have heard about the incident and still did not ask for a baby sitter to comfort Madeleine, if she would cry again?

Dr Amaral did when he was talking about his book. I will try to find where I read it. He may of course not mention names and make refer anonymously, but also remember he hasthe court case so anything on the Mcs will wait until then...makes sense to me
A couple of days ago I sent an email to Martin Brunt, asking him if he had any contact with the Mep, about Madeleine's case.
Today I got a reply: "....., what is Mep?"
I checked on internet and I found out it is not Mep but Met.
Not Mepropolitan Police but Metropolitan Police.
I invite you all to learn from my mistake.
I don't believe Madeleine ever asked "why didn't you come"etc but this story was made up, to suggenst the presence of an indrude in the apartment.
What is very serious was Kate's comment the she wondered if the cry incident happened when Maddie or the three children were bathing.Because she corrected the first story, saying that Maddie asked both parents. If she thought of the possibility Maddie crying during her bath, and asked both parents why they did not come, WHO was bathing the children?
That is a question for the Scotland Yard and for the PJ to ask the McCanns.
Hello Anonymous (post 36). I am lead to believe that the McCanns will have to return to Portugal and appear in court, because Goncalo Amaral has said he will be calling the McCanns to the witness stand.
I wouldn't be surprised if the McCanns dropped the case, because the last thing they want is to appear in court and say why they believe they are entitled to Dr Amaral's house and money. Especially as many posters have already stated, the McCanns have disrespected the PJ and other members of the Portuguese society, including the locals of Praia da Luz, who stayed off work for more than a week, to join the police and holidaymakers, in their search for Madeleine.
I would love to be a fly on the wall, if the McCanns do appear in the witness stand. I hope Dr Amaral, quotes passages from Kate McCanns book of sex and lies, which she disrespectfully called "Madeleine"
If Dr Amaral, does quote passages from this book, I hope he asks Kate McCann why she said that she and her husband were the only ones searching for Madeleine, when she had already admitted in 2007, that she and her husband had never physically searched for Madeleine.
I hope Joana is going to go to court and I hope that the Sky News website, gives us the, they gave us when the McCanns were in Portugal, trying to get Dr Amaral's book "The Truth of the Lie" permanently banned.
