The car of a relative of Sergey Malinka, one of the arguidos in the English police investigation, was inspected yesterday by sniffer dogs. The inspection took place at the Judiciary Police premises in Portimão, and it was done to verify if the car had been used to carry the body of Madeleine McCann. JN knows that nothing relevant was found. The owner is one of the 11 witnesses indicated by Scotland Yard and has already given statements at the Judiciary Police headquarters in Faro, yesterday.

Malinka's car

The Audi that Sergey, of Russian descent and now naturalized as Portuguese, drove in 2007 was set on fire, at a time when he was being investigated. At the site of the arson the word “Fala” [Speak] was written. This is one of the arguments used by Scotland Yard to constitute him as an arguido.

The proceedings were practically concluded at the end of day, with some elements of the British delegation returning ahead of schedule to the UK.

On Tuesday four men were constituted as arguidos. JN found out that one of the man that has agreed to answer to the more than 200 questions was José Carlos da Silva, the former Ocean Club driver, who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour. He didn't follow his doctor and his lawyer advice and decided to speak up to refute the accusations.

He is a suspect in the English investigation, along with the other arguidos - a 51 year old man and a young man who was at the time 16 years old, who looked like a “beggar” spotted near the Ocean Club - of having planned to burglarize the apartment where the McCanns were staying. Maddie would have surprised them and be killed for that same reason.

Marisa Rodrigues [Voice Over] - The sniffer dogs were used in an inspection to a car of a close relative of Sergey Malika, one of the arguidos, since the car that he owned at the time of the child's disappearance was set ablaze. No relevant indicia were found to the English investigation. This morning, Scotland Yard returned to the PJ headquarters in Faro for more witness questionings. The proceedings are practically concluded, but so far, and despite the new developments, it is still unknown what happened to Madeleine McCann.

An investigation that has four arguidos, four men all residents in Praia da Luz. The most well-known is Sergey Malinka previously investigated and cleared within the Portuguese process, who is now considered a suspect, mainly because hairs were found in a sofa similar to the ones that were discovered in the apartment from where Madeleine disappeared. Vestiges that were forensically examined at the time, whose results did not enable the identification of whom they belonged to, nor if they belonged to the same person or not.

The other three arguidos are a man that suffers from schizophrenia, a former Ocean Club driver and a young man, who was only 16 years old at the time, the latter similar to a beggar who was allegedly seen in Praia da Luz. And these were the trump cars that Scotland Yard played in the letter rogatory to support the theory that these suspects planned via mobile phones to burglarize the apartment, Madeleine woke up and with the fear that she would recognize them later on, they murdered her and concealed her body.

Marisa Rodrigues [in Faro] - An hypothesis that the Judiciary Police totally dismisses. The Portuguese PJ inspectors have nothing whatsoever to do with these proceedings, they are only fulfilling the requests of the letter rogatory because the Portuguese Public Ministry has ordered them do so. 1. What is the point in using these dogs?? They were discredited by Mr Mccann when they marked 5a and the hire car..If the dogs had marked the car of the relative of Mr Malinka would Mr Mccann discredit them again or would he be happy to accept their findings..He can't have it both ways??

  2. Dogs dont lie gerry for all your opinions, you wanted a review from sy and look who they bring along. Your oh so unreliable dogs. Didnt signal at malinkas car but sure did at yours and your apartment, and ylur wifes clothes.
Now you ask the dogs gerry

  3. About Kate's trousers, that the dog signalled had cadaver odour on them - we never heard the end of that evidence. She excused the scent by saying that she had been in contact with six dead bodies the week before the holiday in Portugal.
We never heard about the six dead people (in one week!) in Rothley, attended by a part-time GP (was she still at work? I thought she was still on maternity leave at the time.)
And anyone who goes off on holiday wearing such contaminated clothes is not a good doctor, from a basic hygiene standard.
But the families of those six dead patients in Rothley have never been heard of - they would be perfect tabloid interviewees, after all.
Yet here we have dogs again, in spite of Gerry's curt dismissal of them.

  4. Crazy of Scotland Yard to think these men might had killed Madeleine because they were disturbed by her . What on earth could a four year old child have done to them in order for them to kill her , not only kill her but take the trouble to take her away and bury her forgetting to take the loot !

  5. Let's not forget that there's no evidence at all that a break in has ever taken place or that no one else's DNA profile was found inside the 5A apartment, except for the McCanns , their children, the Tapas 7 members and the OC lady cleaners and the two repairmen in one occasion no one else entered that apartment.

  6. This happened in Portugal. The UK police should have never been involve. The UK Police already wasted precious time with this case. The dogs finds weren`t accept the first time why using them now? It only shows that the dogs were right the first time.It doesn`t matter how many circles they go around this case,it only leads to one conclusion, the original finds should have been accept to solve the case. This couple th are using the police as clowns. In their sick mind they think they will get away with this, and they may will, but not because of missing evidence ,but because of who they are.

  8. So when will SY/ McCanns/ Mitchell release evidence of this ' burglary'? I think it's fair to say if the evidence was there we would have heard about it and I would suspect someone would have been arrested already.

  9. Sorry Poster no. 6 I will rephrase it not who they are but what they are...a couple of money grabbling status climbers who seek fame and fortune only. They should be ashamed at the pressure they e put pee under, the mini bus driver against all advice of his doctor and lawyer wanted and did answer all the questions because he did nt want to be thought of as guilty of all that happened. The man is suffering a brain tumor, but still answered the qustions ,more than Kate did.
What shows about these 4 arguidos is they have all been prepared to answer the questions, Kate wouldn't answer 48 to help save her own daughter. I hope someone spills the beans of what they know. Someone overheard a conversation with Malinka say we have a body to dispose of,maybe Mcs approached him indirectly who knows.
remember the words They've taken her, so it was more than one a kate

  10. The PJ should get a European warrant of arrest and take the mccanns and the Tapas 7 to Portugal for questioning . Get kate McCann to answer the questions she refused to answer 7 years ago . If Portuguese nationals can be questioned so can the mccanns they are nobody just a pair of hideous , irresponsible , money grabbers . Charge the pair and the Tapas 7 with neglect for starters and hold them in remand till their case comes up for hearing .

  11. Whet was wrong with the sniffer dogs 7 years ago? Oh sorry, it was the wrong suspects. We can't have that now. Deadwood must be the laughing stock of the intelligent people in this world? He gives the word plod a whole new dimension. He clearly is unable to think for himself and is just following orders. It's behind you guv...no it's over there guv. It's all just show. Mr Amaral can show the judge, nothing new here, sniffer dogs for a dead person , so my theory, your honour, still stands. All other strands have been exhausted.

  12. If 4 people hauled in 7 years later, one sizophenic, one with a brain tumor, one that was 16 at the time, and melinka who has already been interviewed are prepared to answer 250 questions then I doubt they are guilty, kate wouldn't answer 48 and it was her daughter. One answered the the questions because he wanted to prove his innocence. SY look behind you to the shores of uk, there you will find 2 people who know everything. Bring pride back into what was once an exemplary police force. Bring back the tapas and mcs for questioning, if others can this af 7 years the mcs can, its to discover what happened to their daughter after all, instead of raking in undeclared funds

  14. Come on people, surely we must realize by now there are new rules in this so called 'investigation' so far as the dogs are concerned. Those dogs are only reliable in cases the world over, except the case where they dared to alert to items associated and belonging to the McCanns. In that case Redwood is willing to take Gerry's word that they are 'notoriously unreliable', and therefore must have us all look elsewhere.

Redwood will carry on regardless, blinkered and single minded in his efforts to 'bring closure to the McCanns', which is what he told us from the start, and nothing will deflect him from that mission until he has cleared every trace of doubt in the minds of the public that the McCanns were in any way responsible for what happened to Madeleine, because that will surely be the ultimate goal of bringing such 'closure' to them. This latest attempt, including accusing very sick people is sounding like a dead end, so maybe it is time to go back to finding a dead paedophile who wont be able to refute any of the accusations.

  15. How much has this cost British taxpayers to date? Only 6 million pounds has been offered by the the British Government to help 130,000 child migrants find their families after a lifetime of being fed lies - a process which only stopped as recently as 1970. Money is truly no object - not to find Madeleine - but to protect her parents. Why?
