Mr.Amaral: Matter of Fact on Mitchell Veiled Threats

Discover the differences

"A criminal investigation does not have to be politically correct."

Those who knew me through the media formed an opinion based on my connection with the so-called Maddie Case. During the investigation, even after having being removed, I was a target of the most terrible accusations by the British press, by some commentators at “service in our square” [sic – meaning Portuguese media pundits] and by a gentleman named Clarence Mitchell, whose role is not very well understood. On the eve of the publication of the book that you already know, this gentleman was sending me warnings: "that I should be very careful" – be amazed!

I want to leave clear that I find unacceptable this tone coming from a subject of the oldest Democracy of the World. Be careful, why? Because I can slip on a banana peel fallen in the side walk? Is Mr Mitchell concerned about my security or my health? I do not think so. We all understand his menacing tone.

In Portugal, we are not used to people speaking to us in that way. Nor is this the opinion that we have of the British people, but there are always some people that clash. A criminal investigation does not have to be politically correct, not even to fear veiled threats. The book only contains facts and does not contain any accusation. So the differences stand out.

  1. I am shocked that Mr Amaral is being threatened by Mitchell. Who the hell is this Mitchell clown to be threatening a former police chief???

This crap really does need to get out into the British media - but how? No one is listening!

How dare Mr Amaral be threatened in this way? He's already suffered the loss of his dog so what's next?

This man is trying to tell the truth about some despicable people in this country!

I hate this country and the lengths it is going to to silence the Portuguese about a crime by 2 shyster doctors!

Take care of yourself Goncalo - the McCann's and their government bodyguards are not worth your life.

The person who you are trying to seek justice for is already dead and we don't need your blood to be spilled in your pursuit of the truth.

  2. I think Clarence should be careful issuing threats, be they veiled or not. Bet Metedo 3 were behind his dog being poisoned and the botched burglaty on his neighbours housse.
If Amaral was to now meet some kind of acccident it would be thought to be linked to his book.
Pity clarence did not use his threats upon the McCanns to tell where they duumped Madeleine.

Realmente é de uma boa dose de impertinência e extrema má educação todas as ameaças em tom de fera que jorram do orifício vocal do clarinete.

  4. Pompous Clarence has continuously threatened dissenting voices in the slimy, ominous manner described by Mr Amaral.IMO, Clary and his two shifty pals are walking talking embodiements of the sleazy and deceitful culture of spin currently corroding trust in british politics. I do believe, however, that most british people are sick of this disingenuous and confrontational style, and that Clary's LOL ramblings and sinister threats may actually backfire on him and his paymasters in the end - which hopefully, as far as this affair is concerned, won't be too long now. I still hold to the belief that Truth Will Out!
