Kate's Maddie holiday premonition - The Sun

By JAMES CLENCH

KATE McCann had a haunting premonition about the holiday on which daughter Madeleine went missing.

She told a close pal before the trip had been booked: “I don’t know why, I’ve just got an uneasy feeling about it.”

Fiona Payne, 36, revealed Kate’s worries to Portuguese police.

Kate and husband Gerry, both 40, were at first undecided about whether to make the trip, she said.

Fiona was one of the Tapas Seven who dined with the McCanns on the night of three-year-old Madeleine’s disappearance at the Mark Warner Ocean Club resort in Praia Da Luz.

She told an officer: “This always haunts me. Kate ... what she said ... she was unsure.

“Gerry was quite keen but Kate said, ‘I don’t know why, I’ve just got an uneasy feeling about it.’

“And I don’t know why she said that. I don’t think even she knows.”

Fiona’s husband David, 42, said: “Kate didn’t feel quite easy about it.”

The details emerged during interviews given by the Tapas Seven — David, Fiona, her mum Dianne Webster, 64, Dr Russell O’Brien and his partner Jane Tanner, both 37, Dr Matthew Oldfield, 39, and his wife Rachael, 37.

They spoke to cops in April at Enderby, Leics.

The documents, which have been seen by The Sun, total more than 1,000 pages.

Asked how Kate appeared after Madeleine’s disappearance Fiona, an anaesthetist, said: “Awful. I’ve never seen such horrible raw emotion in my life and I’ve seen a lot of it in my job.

“She was bereft. She didn’t know what to do, she was panicking, extremely frightened for Madeleine and was wondering where she was or what was happening to her.

"And the helplessness of not being able to do anything, what should she be doing, what could they do.

“She was angry, really angry, punching walls, kicking walls.

“The next day she was covered in bruises. She was angry at herself.

“She kept saying, ‘I’ve let her down. We’ve let her down, Gerry. We should have been here’. And she prayed a lot.”

Husband David said: “Gerry broke down ... just a broken man.

"He would fling a cupboard open and have a look in a vain, desperate hope she might have been there.

“Then he flung himself on the floor and was just kicking the floor and was just, ‘She’s gone, she’s gone’.”

David’s mother-in-law Dianne said: “Gerry was distraught. I’ve never heard a man make the noises Gerry made.”

  1. Gerry, com a verdade me enganas..., mas não, não enganas. Quando disseste "She's gone, she's gone", Madeleine "was gone" não raptada (abducted) mas morta (dead).

  2. I also have a premomition.
Kate will breakdown and confess and Gerry will say that he had nothing to do with it.

  3. The premonition about K. is good.

    K. said "we left her go on" or "they take her" (to grieve, the Ts).

The police found Gerry's flippant behaviour amid the stress more questionable that Kate's who showed signs of being in mourning.

Fiona reportedly found Kate's methods of checking twins respiratory function 'worrying'.

Gerry couldn't look at the camera whilst stating "we had nothing to do with Madeleine's disappearance" - interview at airport after PJ's intention of arrested was halted.
Footage from which the Smith family recognized Gerry as the man carrying a motionless pyjama clad child on the beach - reportedly around 10.05 p.m. - 3 May.

The orchestrated media campaign, not the police, placed huge emphasis on Kate .... media reports are designed to mislead and manipulate - in breach of all laws of publishing. Recognized by the police and countless others as a 'soap opera'.

  6. Gerry's alleged 'state of torment' didn't last long .... he took to the tennis court on 5th May leaving everyone else to look for his child.

Gerry's wailing could simply have been normal human reaction to reality hitting home ... floored by the result of his own irreparable actions ?

Certainly, the torment etched on the face of Sarah Payne's father throughout his ordeal bears absolutely no comparison to Gerry's flippancy and arrogance.
He was photographed flogging merchanize for profit and gain - grinning like a cheshire cat as were Kate and his brother.

  7. Gerry's behaviour confirms a state of "tormented hopelessness" - whereas parents of abducted children are totally focussed on searching and assisting the police.

Self pity doesn't emerge until all hope is gone and death is 'reality'. That's when normal parents 'lose it' and hit the floor as Gerry reportedly did ... and his torment was GREAT and vastly exceeded Kate's. She sought solace in a biblical passage regarding the death of a child.

Gerry stood to lose far more than Kate - a part time GP.

I wish they never went to Portugal and I'm sure many of the Portuguese people feel the same way.

  12. I saw a copy of the latest issue of People magazine at the supermarket checkout today with a cover story about Casey Anthony, the Florida mother who allegedly murdered her daughter Caylee and lied about it. I look forward to the day when a similar story is finally officially reported about the Madeleine McCann tragedy, once Kate and Gerry have been charged, of course.

A few adjectives I thought adequate about the British freedom of opinion.

Did not waste time trying to find those that would qualify the Tapas & Associates.

  15. Dear Joana,
thnks for the text of the Frankfurter Allgemeine that say the last word about Madeleines case:(I read in german and it is fantastic)

"The affected mothers and their surrounding society can luckily state that the gap between ideal and reality usually closes under the pressure of the facts of life and with the help of confrontational therapeutic interventions, enabling them to take an unselfish look at a sensitive and unique being.

This luck failed Kate McCann, who received her daughter at the age of 35 after a long period of waiting on the path of artificial insemination. The real child is dead. The idealized child haunts the internet under findmadeleine.com and leads the willing users to a pink colour-framed Barbie world, in which the horror has a name: kitsch. Family scenes banned onto video clips, hand-wringing desperation, a dream couple under interrogation, the ranks of celebrities from Beckham to Benedict, calls for donations and trade of devotional articles and a blue eyed doll in the logo, whose empty eyes reflect the emptiness of the world: godless, fatherless, without conscience. Mourning on the World Wide Web. A memorial second for Madeleine McCann 2003-2007.

Was the mother of Caylee afforded the same political protection has the McCanns continue to receive ?

  18. The Payne's honesty caused the McCanns several problems along the way. David reportedly said "we know they didn't do IT (?!) - one of our group saw the abductor", or words to this effect.

So apparently did the Smith family and the man was identified as Gerry.

Fiona reportedly voiced her concerns about Kate checking twins respiratory function in their comatozed state after the police were summoned. Paynes are of a different ilk altogether ... they used a babysitting service in their absence.

It seems the vile aspertions cast on David - paedophillic comments - were unsubstantiated and a waste of police time - as were those of a similar ilk cast on Murat.

The 'malice aforethought' in Madeleine's case is, in itself, highly extraordinary ... evil some would say.

You keep insisting, I keep responding.

Let’s recall our comment exchange the other day:

David Payne has been brought back into line and vindicated of vile paedophillic aspertions cast at the time a Tapas member reportedly changed 'his story'.
Those framing Murat used exactly the same vile deviant sexual innuendo tactics, found by the police to be untrue.

    You stupid dumbass.

David Payne was not vindicated. only an idiot like yourself would try to extract from these sad events a conclusion like yours. Reminds me of Gerry's conclusion after the release of the files (it's proved to all we have done nothing wrong... LOLOL). David was seen by 2 doctors, and, as far as I know, these have not been sued, or has there been reached an agreement with them.

What was declared untrue BY THE EXPRESS GROUP, was that these people didn't lie to authorities and did not obstruct justice. No mention about David Payne's nipple twisting and finger sucking.

The Murat framing was done by your people. So its a stupid effort to try and bring him into the picture once again. And about any "framing" of Murat's sexual options, all I heard was linked directly to Madeleine's ludicrous abduction. Which like so many things done by you guys, proved to be false and done with wrongful intent.

Please read the Himself post once again. Your day is coming. Be certain of it.

    Meanwhile, sweat it out.

Its a modern world. Repeating a lie over and over again no longer makes it a truth. Nice effort, though.

    Today, you insist:

“It seems the vile aspertions cast on David - paedophillic comments - were unsubstantiated and a waste of police time - as were those of a similar ilk cast on Murat.”

    Need I say more?

“The Payne's honesty”, now there’s a contradiction in terms!!!

HOWEVER, TODAY WE HAVE SOMETHING NEW:

The way I read this post is that THE PAYNE’S ARE DESPERATELY TRYING TO BREAK APART FROM THE McCANNS.

    GERRY AND KATE, WATCH OUT!!!

G & K, read the post and see the Payne’s whitewashing machine starting to do its job… And when you finally come out, well, too late… The Payne’s will come out, guns blazing, stating that they have ALWAYS hinted that you were the one’s who did it?

Hmmm, are the rats starting to jump ship?

People, this is getting very interesting…VERY interesting…

  20. To the anonymous who mentions the interview at the airport when the McCanns rushed back home to the UK after having been made arguidos and reminds us that Gerry couldn't face the cameras when he stated 'we had nothing to do' with the disappearance of Madeleine. You are right, he didn't face the cameras. Also interesting is that Kate hid her face behind the girl twin she was carrying when Gerry made that statement.

  21. To the anonymous who wrote on 20/10/08 at 21:21 hours, starts with 'The Payne's honesty...' (what honesty!?) and imagines 'vile aspersions cast on David'. Your distorted thinking reminds me of the fallacious reports of the McCann case typical of some anglophone media reports on the case. Some members of the public appear to be affected by this kind of misleading argument based on unsound 'logic' and eventually display identical mental malfunction!
